Looking across both the Quiraing and the Trotternish ridge this wonderful view was taken from about half way round the walk where a lot of people stop off to admire the stunning vista.

The old man of storr
The Old man and its companions are no strangers to me. Each time I visit Skye I come back with more images from different angles
This time was no exception. After climbing the ridge and veering away from the well trodden path I came across this vantage point.
A long exposure image but only 28 seconds
If you look hard you will see the climbers who stood still for most of the exposure.
When the west wind blows
The shores dance and sing to the crashing, incessant beat of the waves as they pound, pound, pound..
Set against a stunning backdrop this small Castle sits on the Ayrshire coast. Orginal work started in the mid 14th Century. From this vantage point Arran can be clearly seen as the backdrop. Take long after sunset the clouds were still picking up the afterglow which this long exposure image brings out.
Tree in mist
A lone tree hangs onto the cliff face in glen etive. Shrouded in mist the backdrop allows you to imagine times gone by
Portencross Pier at the end of the day
The wild west coast
A wild night on the west coast of Scotland Shot at Portencross just outside West Kilbride in Ayrshire A particularly wild night with the swell hitting 10+ feet
over the sea
A stunning location steeped in history. Portencross a very small village on the west coast of Scotland With views across to Arran and Little Cumbrae you just cannot beat it! On nights like this one the sea and sky catch ablaze with hues of reds oranges and blues as the last rays catch the upper atmosphere Clyde Coast Sunset. Ayrshire Scotland.
Another from my pastel collection at Portobello Beach near Edinburgh.
Portobello is a small seaside town now incorporated into Edinburgh.
A very popular destination in days gone by now its less popular but it still has unrivalled views of the Sun coming up on Scotlands East Coast
The sun setting behind Little Cumbrae on Scotlands wild West Coast. Taken from Portencross in Ayrshire. Home to the best potatoes anywhere.
