A visit to Skye is not complete or even at its start unless a visit to the Storr is included. This was shot in 20-35 mph winds. The tripod had to be held down to stop it blowing off the ridge. With an exposure of 2 mins it was no mean feat to hold it steady for so long. The result is this ethereal look at the Storr whilst the Sun was rising behind.
From the Quiraing on the Island of Skye
absolutely stunning as a location with breathtaking views where ever you look.
This was shot at sunrise in early November when the rich colours of Autumn are still mixed with some of the winter splendour.
The Old Man of Storr picked out on its own against a backdrop of low lying cloud. Waiting for over an hour and a half in high winds and freezing tempratures to get a peek at the pinnacle. It was time well spent.
